What material can it remove?
Our venturi dredge systems are designed for controlled underwater excavation and sediment transfer. They are capable of removing:
- Silt
- Sand
- Shingle
- Gravel
- Mud
- Organic build-up
- Accumulated sediment
- Contaminated sediments
If sediment is compacted, airlifts, lances or water jets can be used to loosen it first. This ensures targeted, accurate removal with minimal disturbance.
Reclaiming and Repositioning Material
Material removed during dredging can be pumped to a designated discharge point or transferred directly to land or into a holding device for removal..
For example, our systems are regularly used for:
- Beach and shoreline replenishment
- Shingle repositioning
- Controlled relocation of sediment
- Dock clearance
Because the system is capable of transferring large amounts of material over short distances, it is particularly effective for shoreline and marina maintenance.
Clearing and Restoration Work
The system is also used for:
- Subsea excavation in confined environments
- Removing contaminated sediments
- Clearing beneath floating structures
- Removing obstructions
- Aquatic plant excavation
It shifts solid material efficiently while remaining lightweight, flexible and easy to deploy.
Key Benefits of a Venturi-Operated Dredge System
Our venturi-operated dredging equipment is compact and fully submersible, making it ideal for specialist environments such as docks, canals and hard-to-reach areas such as shallow water, underneath pontoons and floating infrastructure.

Compact
Its compact size makes it easy to mobilise and allows it to work in tight spaces without heavy equipment or disruption.

Efficient
Consistent suction performance and limited stops for blockages, which are easily resolved, improve operational efficiency and help complete jobs more quickly.

Targeted
This is precision dredging, with limited disturbance to the surrounding infrastructure and bed.

Non-invasive
A lower-impact alternative to mechanical excavation, ideal for sensitive or regulated environments.

Cost-effective
With minimal mobilisation, fewer capital assets and less mechanical maintenance, overall project costs are kept to a minimum.

Versatile
Systems can be diver-operated, crane-mounted or ROV-operated. Different models and pipe diameters are available to suit every project.
From confined access to sensitive working conditions, our venturi dredge systems are built to offer clear operational benefits.
Our Flexible Supply Options
We offer both short-term and long-term rental options, as well as permanent and temporary installation solutions. Our dredge systems are lightweight and transportable by road or air, allowing rapid deployment across the UK and internationally.
With 24-hour UK support and 24-hour UK delivery available, we ensure equipment and assistance are available when you need them.

What Is a Venturi-Operated Dredge System?
A Venturi system is used for controlled subsea excavation, particularly in locations where traditional mechanical dredge systems are unsuitable. Instead of relying on mechanical components within the dredge head, the Venturi system uses a high-powered water pump to generate vacuum pressure. This reduces the risk of blockages and makes the operation highly efficient.
There are no moving parts in the fully submersible dredge head itself. Suction lifts sediment directly from the bed and transfers it through flexible hose lines to a designated discharge location.
The system can be diver-operated or fitted to a crane or boom, giving flexibility for use. It is capable of moving large amounts of material over short distances, making it suitable for pure dredging and seabed/shore reprofiling.
